The 2010 Ann Arbor "Mini" Maker Faire is being organized by folks from the Ann Arbor tech community. We formed an LLC, A2 Tech Events LLC, to make putting on this kind of event easier, and to deal in part with the liability of holding a public event like the Faire. This is "not-for-profit," but unfortunately it is not a tax-exempt non-profit, so donations are not tax deductible. O'Reilly Media and Maker Faire have been supportive of local-scale, DIY Maker Faires, and we appreciate that a lot. However, they aren't responsible for oversights, mistakes, and other screw-ups that we'll no doubt make.
